We had a fantastic Valedictory session at Lakkasandra today. Venkat and I arrived early and tested the 3 advanced students - Aleeya,Nandini, Pintu for road riding skills, and they passed with flying colors. We then asked them if they wanted to ride out, and eyes agleam, they jumped at the opportunity. We rode in the streets near the school, including some stretches on Bannerghatta road for 30 minutes, with all of them riding safely with traffic. The other students - Twins Divya & Deekshita, Revathi, Mokshita,Umera, Shallu were tested for Core and Advanced skills and all were found proficient. Abhignya still has a bit of a lurch, and he had been ill for a few sessions, but a bit of practice and she should be able to ride well.Thipakka and Brunda were absent today. All the volunteers who had come to Lakkasandra on different saturdays managed to make time to be there - Shriya,Bhoomika,Indu,Venkay,Vinay. At the session end the students were awarded certificates, and DULT recognized the efforts of the BBS volunteers and also presented us a lovely cycle themed memento. Principal Manjula Mam, Tejatha Mam from DULT also spoke to the students and recognized their efforts. Shriya handed out chocolates to all the participants. The students sang a lovely thank you song, and have pledged to continue riding.
