Eighth hands on session with the cycles at Lakkasandra. We started with a demo of the evaluation process to be conducted on 14th Feb for all the students. Then the advanced students- Pintu, Nandini tried all the core and advanced steps and performed them well. But they are not road ready yet with the signaling and safe lane changing. Pintu, Nandini moved on to practicing one hand riding in the main road and safe turning, and made good progress under the watchful guidance of Venkat. The intermediate students Revathi, Umera,Brunda and Shallu moved to pedaling up and down the small lane with Indu to ensure they were able to pedal without a lurch. At the session end Shallu, Revathi and Umera did the core and advanced skills demo and performed well, though they need a bit more practice on turning with speed and handle control. Umera tends to drift to the center of the road, and also stop abruptly, and Revathi tends to go a bit too fast. Brunda and Abhignya practiced inside the school campus, and are able to pedal straight for a bit longer duration, but occasionally tend to veer left or right, they need more practice to master the core and move on to the Advanced skills set. Thippakka is still struggling. We ended with Indu handing out candy to the students and the teachers. The students remained enthusiastic and energetic in their efforts.
