Folks,

I've just found out that www.blueskycycling.com do ship to India. The shipping rates are:

$50-00 - $99.98  shipping charge - $ 54.98

$100.00 - $149.98 shipping charge - $ 74.98

$150 - more   shipping charge - $99.98

If package exceeds 20lbs shipping will be subjected to a higher cost.

They ship by UPS and provide a tracking no. which you can track from the UPS website www.ups.com

Also, www.evanscycles.com ship to India for free if the cost of the order placed is over and above 65 GBP (British Pounds)

This is just a FYI in case anyone needs something.

Thanks,
~Vasu

I've used chainreactioncycles in the past. Good service, often times
their prices are lower than others including shipping.

My experience with ordinary mail has been bad. EMS works very well and
has tracking but might require a trip to the foreign parcel post
office if your parcel is big/expensive. At chainreaction one can
specify if they want delivery by UPS. UPS works very well and shipping
itself is sometimes a bit cheaper than EMS, but they charge ridiculous
arbitration (or whatever they call it) fees and the customs duty
applied was way above the 'book' price (which is 13+6+2 percent for
bicycles and bicycle parts according to the big book at the post
office, whatever that means).

Anyway, support your local bike shops when you can :)

I think you make a very good point of supporting the local operations, especially since their prices are comparable for most items. Granted the selection is limited, but that is a problem that will cure itself as their volumes increase.

Other advantages, you get to touch and try before you buy, which can be invaluable at times. Plus the instant gratification of walking out with the item rather than wait for days wondering when it will come.

Hi
Deepak and I have been ordering regularly from Evans. They are pretty
fast and shipping is free for orders over 50 Pound Sterling. I have
found them reliable and they also have a good return policy. This is
important when you are first ordering stuff like clothes, shoes. They
also have a good sizing guide.
Happy Biking!

Folks

In order to facilitate biking, I have launched a website www.greenworks-bangalore.com
to sell biking products. Please do visit the site and offer your
inputs, I would certainly value and appreciate the same.

Thanks
