Hi,
I am sharing my terrific experience with Decathlon so far.

Bicycle purchased from Brigade road store
Service done in Whitefield store.

1. On the purchased date 3rd June, rear reflectors were not fixed, rear brake was loose
2. Seat stem became loose the 5th day and again both the brakes were biting the alloys and auto release did not happen (Meanwhile this issue is still there and no mechanics could fix it)
3. Rear tyre punctured 6 times in 2 months and now running on 3rd tube.
4. Brake cable changed after 3 months and still the problem with brakes are there
5. Seat stem got loose thrice and came to know the person who has fixed this cycle has done it wrong way
6. Purchased front and rear pud guards from decathlon and the mechanism is not sturdy enough for a MTB cycle. It got loose so many times and I need to carry them in my back pack to home.
7. Now coming to decathlon service, I was asked to change chain and rear chain sprocket. I asked what is the reason and the mechanic could not able to explain me why so.
8. Since I have faced so many issues with my brakes, I thought I could change it to discs from V brake and came to know it is not possible and I understand the difficulty behind it by Googling it since the mechanic could not explain me that as well.
9. Full service with spares costs be 2400 INR and completely unprofessional service from such a reputed brand.
10. When I came to collect my bicycle, there was no accessories I gave with it and none of the mechanics there know what are the accessories I have given attached with the bicycle.
11. While giving to service, I requested only one thing. Asked him to fit the mudguards proper since they were not fitting proper and he has not done that as well.
12. While receiving the bicycle, there was a big drama happened. I asked where is my rear mudguards and they took the mudguards without cleaning it and trying to fit it.
13. Then I asked what he is doing, then he cleaned it and were learning how to fix that. He has absolutely no clue where to fit it and how to fit it.
14. Another mechanic came and tried to fix it and broke it. Then he fixed the broke pieces and fitted them.
15. On the way back from the store, halfway I came to know that, my lock cable is missing. Frustrated and called them to keep it with them and I shall collect it on Monday since my home is already far.
16. On the way back, the handle bar stem was loose and not aligned proper. I fixed them myself with my kit in hand in the middle of the ride.
17. It's been 2 days I got the cycle from the service and the chain is loose and getting off the rear wheel sprocket so far 6 times.

Thanks,
Jose

You should share it widely on Facebook and Twitter. If possible put up a placard outside Decathlon with your experience. Very unprofessional.

It is easy to complain. They are also people like you and me. They make mistakes.

People take out all luggage from their car/motorbike before having it serviced. If you think that is difficult, get an acknowledgement from them/photo listing/showing all of the attached accessories.

Most of the times, you see new faces in decathlon. Mostly college students or someone who is in between jobs, in other words, a temp. They may not know the trade as well a professional bike mechanic.

On a related note, ST-100 is not that much of a good bike. You got what you paid for.

From your choice of the word 'terrific', I'd imagined that this was a happy experience! Not sure if the 'terrific' was sarcastic, or you actually meant to say terrible! Regarding the post itself, I have to agree with NomadX; Decathlon is a place where you can score sweet deals, but don't expect the staff to be very knowledgeable about the stuff they sell. There can be shop-floor personnel who go well beyond expectations, but those are exceptions and not the rule.
