Cubbon Park Session, Sunday 22 Feb 2026

A hot sunny day, and the park busy with a running event.

Trainers : Parag, Vinay, Ganesh, Venkat, Shriya,Aravind

Hello: Shaurya and Samruddhi with dad Kumar. Abhinav with dad Krishnamurthy. Chandrashekar Sir arrived just as we were winding up and kindly stopped for a chat and a photo.

Newbies :
Anuradha- Practiced scooting for a few rounds
Ankan- Practiced scooting and is able to get balance intermittently while going downhill.Perhaps by next session there will be good progress. Practices a bit of half pedaling too. That is it.
Gaurav- Started with scooting and is able to get some balance. Some lurching also noted. With some practice there will be good improvement. Asked him to slow down as cycle was going out of control while scooting.
Kajol- She’s reasonable at balancing, and coming along fine with scooting, however she still uses her feet while slowing down. Half pedaling is okay, but needs improvement. She’s generally motivated to learn, though challenged by the bikes being a bit big for her height.
Mahithi- Came with Mom Geetha and learnt to scoot and half pedal, helped by Anuha and Ahhinav.
Prachi- The Product manager started with safety basics, and had a slow start with static balancing due to fear of falling, but once she got over that, she rapidly progressed to scooting , and also half pedaling.
Sanj- The 3rd grader came with her mom, and did some scooting practice, needs more effort to balance properly, but the young lady is in a hurry to start pedaling !
Shubha- Star of the day, and our trainer Arvinds better half, had cycled earlier, and rides a scooty so it was simple. After the basics, started with a scoot, and midway moved directly to pedaling. She did all the drills including turns, zigzag and circles. Hand signaling is the only remaining step.
Lekhana- Good progress for a newbie, she has found her balance and will move on to pedaling next week!
Ongoing Learners:
Aishwarya- Good progress, started pedaling with a few wobbles and just needs a bit more practice. Needs to put more pressure on pedal to start and also let go of fear once started as she was stopping pedaling after start due to fear.
Anuha - Came a bit late, and as all the bikes were occupied, kindly helped teach a couple of the young students, and then practiced turning.
Dwithi- Continued with trying to scoot
Dhun- Was persistent on learning how to pedal. She didn't have great balance but was half peddling successfully. Can do better, just needs to maintain balance
Geeta- Star of the day, after a few rounds of scooting with one leg, went all the way to pedaling today.
Madhu- Practiced pedaling up and down by herself, will be ready to do turns and zigzag next.
Pankaja- Started of with the basics. Able to balance intermittently while scooting downhill. A tendency to break with legs is there on occasion, half pedaling can be looked at the next session and uphill once balance is in place
Prerna- Cane after a couple of weeks break, and practiced scooting with one leg on the pedal, she should be ready to try pedaling next sunday.
Sharon- The medical PG student came after a break due to exams and focused on scooting and pedaling. Downhill is steady now, needs to develop leg strength to tackle the uphill.
Yukthi- Continued to pedal down and then up for a while, and then moved to zig zags

**Keep pedaling and see you next weekend! 🚴‍♂️🌿**
