A bowl of steaming porridge is a perfect way to warm you up and set
your morning off to a healthy start. You'll love our version with
chopped pecan nuts and a generous drizzle of honey.
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup skim milk
1 small banana, thinly sliced
8 pecans, chopped
1 tbs honey
Place oats in a small saucepan with 1 1/2 cups boiling water. Add 1/2
tsp salt and place over a medium-low heat. Cook, stirring for 5
minutes, or until thick and most of the liquid has evaporated. Add
the milk and cook for a further 2-3 minutes, or until thick and
creamy.
Spoon porridge into bowls and top with sliced banana, pecans and honey.
Notes
This is also delicious with a dusting of ground cinnamon. You could
also use maple syrup in place of honey if desired.
