Witnessing from the Roots
Sunday, October 19, 1:00 PM
The word radical means "from the root". Katherine Fisher will share
about her experience of faith-rooted witness for peace and justice in
her talk, Witnessing from the Roots, on Sunday, October 19. Her
experience includes war tax resistance, volunteering at a Catholic
Worker house, and participating in the movement to close the School of
the Americas.
Katherine Fisher became a Quaker after attending Cambridge Friends
School from kindergarten through 8th grade. She started attending
Providence Friends Meeting while she was in college, and also joined
New England Yearly Meeting's Earthcare Ministry committee and Young
Adult Friends. After graduating, she became the Assistant Director
of Beacon Hill Friends House. She is currently a member of Beacon
Hill Friends Meeting and the clerk of its Peace & Social Concerns
committee. She is a friend of the Catholic Worker movement, a
frequent participant in nonviolent action to close the School of the
Americas, and an active war tax resister.
