Hi all,
Apparently there's going to be a big YAF gathering in Ohio from June
22 to 24, "A time for worship, reflection, and healing divisions among
Friends". More info below... I assume at least a few people from
Boston will be going -- Jeff is on the visioning committee, as is Nate
Blood-Patterson from W. Mass...

Peace,
Zach

Dear Friends,

We invite you to take part in an exciting event for young
adult Friends. As conversation is ripe about the need for Friends to
come together across the barriers of age and the branches of
Quakerism, we are organizing a week-long event where both can happen!
We hope that this intergenerational, inter-faith dialogue will take
place this summer at the "Quaker camp" at Olney (in Barnesville Ohio,
more details attached).

This is a week-long gathering for Friends of all ages, and
we hope to have a strong presence of young adults to continue the work
of building community and seeking Spirit that we have been begun at
the world gathering of young Friends, and at the most resent "Building
Sustainable Community" conference in Burlington, NJ. We intend for
this gathering to be somewhat organic, with the structure arising from
those present and strongly based in the leading of the Spirit., There
will be a large amount of time for worship as a corporate body, as
well as in small groups and individually. We also hope to spend time
as young adult Friends building intentional community and playing
together. Finally, this will be a great opportunity to share
experiences, and hear from Friends who participated in Young Friends
of North America when it was active in the '60s and '70s.

Costs are on a sliding scale, so don't let that keep you
from coming. Some Friends will be headed to the FGC Gathering
afterwards, so you can definitely do both. We encourage you to
consider joining us in this opportunity of seeking, worshiping and
playing together. Please spread the word

Faithfully,

Andrew Esser-Haines (ess...@earlham.edu)

Do you yearn for a more vibrant spiritual community?

COME TO QUAKER CAMP!

A time for worship, reflection, and healing divisions among Friends

June 22-24: "YFNA/WGYF—Past, Present & Future"

(Reunion & Envisioning a Future YFNA)

For decades, YFNA brought together Friends from all branches of
Quakerism in a rich spiritual community. If you were part of Young
Friends of North America, or have attended a World Gathering of Young
Friends, you know the power of being in community with Friends from
different traditions. Is it time for a new version of YFNA? This
will be a weekend for past, present and future young adult Friends,
where we can share memories, stories, plans and visions for the
future.

June 24-29: "Quaker Camp at Stillwater"

Following the reunion, we invite all Friends hungry for spiritual
community, of all ages, to spend time in worship, reflection,
conversation, and play. We hope to bring together Friends from all
branches of Quakerism, to share what Spirit-led Quakerism is about at
its core--and to experience it together. We hope young adult Friends
will continue their community building during this week. (See below
for a tentative daily schedule.)

The attached form gives cost and registration information. Questions
and registration forms should be sent to: quake...@gmail.com
