Hey everyone!

**Just a quick reminder, if you're replying to an email that was sent to everyone, MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR "TO:" box, because you'll be sending your whole conversation out to everyone.  I don't know how you guys feel about email, but I get bummed out when I'm bogged down in tons of it, so I'd appreciate having less in my inbox (that isn't even directed to me)... that being said, I'd love to hear from each and every one of you, so update me whenever you can or feel like it!**

I hope everyone's been enjoying the time they get to spend in their respective gardens.  I'm looking forward to hearing from each of you all of the exciting work you've been doing!

So I hope now that we've gotten into the swing of things, everyone is ready to PARTY!!!  Kenney Cottage Garden, where Cyrena interns, is hosting a (work) PARTY to celebrate the Global Day of Action where people from all over the world are getting together in their communities to do something about global climate change.  I hope you guys see this as a chance to feel empowered, build community and have some fun!  (This is also a great opportunity for any of you to MAKE UP MISSED HOURS that you are behind on... or if you want to get ahead and have less weeks to commit to at the end of the semester, by all means, go for it--go for all 6 hours if you're up for it!)

So you are officially invited:: Check out the invitation below, I recommend reading it.. I find it inspiring.

Here's a blurb from Kenney Cottage's website:

Kenney Cottage's party will be on TEN.TEN.TEN

OCTOBER 10, 2010

10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Kenney Cottage Community Garden on 1631 Fifth St.,
Berkeley, California
In conjunction with the Global Work Party on 10.10.10, we are inviting
you supporters of our garden project to come and volunteer at the site.
Come out and help us continue to build our neighborhood community
garden. This is a unique garden planned and built for a diverse
community including ADA access. We need your help.
Bring your tools and enthusiasm to help continue the building and
planting. We'll pull out weeds, organize and clear tools, move dirt,
build greenhouse and finish up the Sunflower Surprise hill by retaining
the dirt on the hill and planting flowers all around it and last but not least, lay down landscape fabric on the drain rocks and put the path fines
over the fabric. Your help is greatly appreciated. There will be food and
refreshments for everyone. For more information on the Global Work
Party, go to http://www.350.org/ and join us and one of our new
sponsors The Victory Garden Foundation in our local action for a
global sustainable living that will benefit our planet. You can also use our online form to sign up. Just click >>here.

I plan to bike to Kenney Cottage the morning of Oct. 10.  If any of you would like to bike there with me, let me know so we can organize a little caravan of sorts (:

Garden on, BUGIs! I'm so proud of you all!

peas and love,
Amy
