This is an updated version of the announcement that went out last night (rain/snow location for rally added and Monday press conference info updated)

People are welcome to join us for the rally and/or sleep out on the Boston Common this Sunday, as well as the Hearing and/or press conference on Monday.

Does your organization want to endorse The Leadership Campaign and join the coalition?  Then follow the lead of the Massachusetts Council of Churches, and join the Leadership Campaign!  Feel free to contact me with questions/concerns or to request a copy of the endorsement letter.

 JOIN THE LEADERSHIP CAMPAIGN AND DR. HANSEN THIS WEEKEND!

This weekend, our campaign for 100% Clean Electricity on Boston Common and in the State House will be joined by one of the world's leading climate scientists, NASA's Dr. James Hansen.  Dr. Hansen first testified to Congress about climate change more than 20 years ago.

Dr. Hansen will be sleeping out on Boston Common with us to demonstrate the moral urgency of addressing global warming swiftly and seriously.  The time for half-measures is over, we need to move to 100% Clean Electricity and shut down our coal plants as swiftly as possible.

REGISTER TO SLEEP-OUT WITH DR. HANSEN THIS SUNDAY

We invite you to join us on Sunday or Monday.  We will rally at 3:50pm Sunday the 8th on Boston Common (rain/snow location: the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 138 Tremont Street - just across from the Common).

Monday, November 9th at 10:00am, The Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change is sponsoring an informational hearing with - Dr. James Hansen in room B2.

Speakers include:

The Rt. Rev. Roy "Bud" Cederholm, Jr., Bishop Suffragan of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts

Frank Ackerman, Professor at Economics at Tufts University and Senior Economist, Stockholm Environment Institute - US Center

Dominique McCadden, Northeastern University Student

A press conference with Dr. Hansen will follow the hearing.
