Yes,

They also had a DWI road block on 9th Street at St. Agnes last night.
Appeared to be a training exercise as there were at least 35 police cars
there along with the DWI Task Force RV. I just had to "walk" down and
check them out.

Police saw me on my porch last night and stop to talk. He is one of the
officers on extra duty in our neighborhood and is doing a great job. He
communicated many areas he has addressed and many he is looking into. He
seemed to know the area well. He said he met with the Frostop folks and
they welcome his presents and would like help even though they do not
call the police. He went to the door of the house on my street(
Napoleon/Mayflower) which has really become an eye sore since the
tenants changed about 2 months ago. Lots of trash in the yard including
a shopping cart and other junk, many vehicles in and out all the time,
parking in the yard causing major mud holes, and one of the tenants
knocking on many doors asking for all kinds of things at all hours. The
officer has made contact with many folks cutting through the
neighborhood to understand who they are and what they are up to. He made
an arrest Monday or Tuesday for a guy he checked out while walking and
had "stuff" on him.

Bottom line they are helpful to have around. Let's keep reporting and
watching out for each other. When it becomes too hard to cause trouble
in our neighborhood they will go elsewhere and yes it will be an ongoing
task!

Wednesday February 1, 2012, a thin black male was knocking on doors
and asking for money on Lakeland Street (Spanish Town).

The BRPD was called and arrived in the neighborhood in less than 5
minutes.
The DPS was alerted and joined the search.
No suspect was seen or apprehended.

Wedmesday morning, February 1 @ 3am, a black male was seen jumping a
picket fence from a back yard that butts up to Bungalow.
A resident gave chase with his dog and called the police.

Be aware of your surroundings.
Keep your doors locked.
Always call the police if you see or become aware of suspecious
activity. 389-2000
