Our friend CASA is hosting an interesting symposium this week. Please read below.

UTISM is the University of Toronto Interdisciplinary Symposium on the Mind, an undergraduate-organized full-day academic conference meant to showcase a diverse range of approaches to studying the mind. This year, UTISM asks what the relationship should be between economics and cognitive science. Both fields study things like rationality, collective decision-making, fairness, and cooperation, but economics is usually not considered related to cognitive science. Topics that will be discussed at UTISM 2012 include general intelligence, human nature, dynamic and complex systems, behavioural economics, epigenetics, and the evolution of the human mind. So there's something here for everyone, and no talks assume prior knowledge of economics or cog sci. Registration is $10 for students, and includes lunch, snacks, soft drinks, and coffee.
