The OMG, which created the standard, does not perform certification and conformance testing. There are levels of conformance defined in the standard but I'm not aware of any third party which has been established to provide this.

Thank you Neal.
until now i haven't found any element about existence of some kind of
certification by third parties. i think i have to explain it to our
customer that requires to put to use a certified BPMN 2.0 tool.
Kind regards
Fabrizio

Some tools for users to perform their own tests are at:

Conrad,

Thanks for the links. These are definitely good to know about. I know the whole issue of conformance testing came up during the BPMN 2.0 evaluation team effort. Paul Tazbaz out at Wells Fargo was really eager to try to make something happen but I haven't heard anything about that in some time. Andrew.... or maybe it was Richard... had said that the OMG not doing certification and validation was a long-standing position but that they would be interested in cooperating if some other organization took the lead.  Have you heard anything different from that or does that still represent the state of things as far as you know?

That's my understanding, they don't want to be seen as picking winners
among their membership. But they can support development of tests that
members voluntarily agree to report results of, see this OMG press
at [1] below, and the link inside it to the Model
Interchange Working Group (MIWG uses one of NIST's tools to test
SysML/UML files, see linke [2] below). Would be great if someone
started a workgroup for BPMN testing, could use the Business Incubator
tools.
