Dear All,
It's time for our self introduction. Before the face-to-face workshop
starts, let us know each other. Please REPLY this mail by giving your
brief profile. Your introduction may include, your full name; nick
name, if any; preferred name to be addressed; academic qualifications,
where studied; work related experiences, including experience, if any
in Open and Distance Learning (ODL); what you like most (may be
hobbies); family matters (if you like to share).

Here is an example:

I am Sanjaya Mishra. I prefer to be called Sanjaya, but in most
official communication I am addressed Dr. Mishra. I do not mind being
called either. In the web, at most places my nick name is "missan",
though I am known differently at home and amongst my friends. I have a
doctorate in Library and Information Science from the University of
Delhi, besides post graduate qualifications in distance education,
television production, and training. I am working with the ODL system
for the last 15 years in various capacities. Of late, I am more into
online learning and web-based technologies. I do not have specific
hobbies, but I like photography (both still and movies), and I like
Hindi films.

Well, you choose your own format for introduction, but start replying
as soon as possible. I am going to post something else for tommorrow.

Last to one years I am studing my M.Phil study in Dhaka university. I am working in Social Security and Working Women in Bangladesh under the depertment of peace and Conflict Studies. Let me introduce myself. I am Md. Mizanoor Rahman; nick name- "Mizan". I have been working at BOU Open School (OS) since long its inception in 1993. I did my Master of Commerce (MCom) degree from the University of Dkaha, Bangladeshand joined as a Lecturer in Finance & Banking at the OS. I learned Distance Education (DE) on trial & error method and got some training organised by COL. During my active service, I did MBA in Financial Management from the Cental Queensland University, Australia which is one of the leading DE Universities in the world. I developed number of self-instructional texts for JSC, SSC, HSC, BBS and PGDM programs of the BOU. In addition, I published a number of research papers on educational technology in the research journal. I am currently coordinatiing the JSC program under DE mode of the School in partnership with the NGO coalition Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE) for the disadvantaged children who completed grade 5 education from NGO/community schools. Working in DE organization, ODL has become my life. I like DE, I contain DE in mind all the time.

Welcome Mizan,
It seems our interest areas are similar. I also joined IGNOU in 1993,
and much interested in management 9particulalry HRM). Good to know
that you have been publishing in educational technology. Please do
share sometime about your publications. It must be a great experience
to study at CQU -- a pioneer in distance education in the Australia.

I am Md. Abu Reza khashnabish. I prefer to be called Abu Reza, but I
am also addressed Khashnabish.I do not mind being called Reza. I am
known differently at home and amongst my boyhood friends & relatives.
I have a M.S.S. degree in Social Welfare from the University of Dhaka,
besides M.Ed. in Primary Education from the same university. I am working
in the NFE(Non-formal Education), specially in curriculum & material
development for the last 11 years in NGO sector. Before that I worked
in journal. I have experience in developing textbooks, supplementary
reading books, literacy primer and various types of continuing education
materials for children and of adult education program. I am author and
co-author of books, booklets, teachers' guide and manuals. I do not have

Hi Friends,

I am Pankaj and also preferred to called Pankaj, though my full name
is Dr. Pankaj Khare. I am doctorate in Multimedia Education and MTech
in Applied Geology. I also acquired Postgraduate Diploma in Distance
Education. My experiences are varied, from a formal education teacher
to distance education faculty to DE practitioner. Having experience of
serving ODL system for more than 20 years, presently, I am holding
position of Director, International Division at IGNOU, New Delhi. I
have also served COL for two years.

My passion is computers and I love to talk to people and love to talk
a lot. I believe that talking opens new relationships (I know most of
you talked to me over phone) and believe in sharing. TV fills my free
time and Hindi songs give me pleasure.

Hello, everybody. Hope going well. Let me introduce myself.

I am Prof. Dr. Alinoor Rahman, Dean, BOU Open School. I did my MCom in Management from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and started my teaching career at the Islamic University, Bangladesh. I did PhD from the same University and titled Professor in 2004 and held the Deanship Position of the Faculty of Business Administration, Proctor of the University, Chairman of the Department of Management and Provost of Residential Hall.

 

I was appointed Professor at the Bangladesh Open University (BOU) in 2007 and became Dean, School of Education and subsequently the Dean Open School. I found the ODL is very challenging. Hope this training will be of great benefit in developing my ODL professional.

I am Dr. Mohd Amirul Islam. Call me Amirul. I started my Job at Bangladesh Open University January 2006. Before Starting  my Job at BOU I did my Ph.D. in Chemistry, MSc, and BSc (Hons.) in Applied Chemistry & Chemical Technology form the Rajshahi University, Bangladesh. I found my job at BOU very interesting and now devloping my pedagogic development though doing my BEd degree at the Northern University. Hope this training program will also develop my ODL gedagogy.

I am Najnin Jahan. I am preferably addressed Najnin in my office and family.I completed B.A and  M.A in Philosophy discipline from Jahangirnagar University. I have been awarded M.Phil degree and still have now been pursuing Ph.D program in the said university.  My research area was on women's movement in Bangladesh. I have been serving as a lecturer in Bangladesh Open University since November 2005 and am now interested to be more acquainted with the ODL system. Truly speaking, i do have no specific hobbies but am fond of reading romantic novel.

I am Tasrun Jahan.Nick name is Tanmi.I completed Msc. in Economics from Jahangirnagar university. After that I worked as a Research Officer in a project at Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies. Then I joined in Brac Bank. Actually I wanted to be a good Teacher. In the mean time I got chance at Lalmatia College as a part time Lecturer and I left Brac bank. Now, I am working as a lecturer at Open School of Bangladesh Open University. It's a  different idea of teaching method.I am enjoying this teaching method very much.Recetly I am writing a text book for BBS program. I hope I will be bebefited from this training program.

Welcome Tanmi. I hope you don't mind me calling in this name. You will
also be surprized to know that I also wanted to be a teacher. A numner
of teachers in shaped my early life making huge impact on my decision.
had it not been a University teacher, I would have certainly been a
school teacher. Great to know about your passion for teaching, and
that you are writing a textbook for BBS programme. Is it a textbook or
a course material forthe Open School? You are right, the upcoming
workshop would be of great help in making your learning materials more
readable, accessible, and interactive to make students learn better.

Dear Raja,
Welcome to the egroup. You seems to have a lot of experience, and we
would like to bank upon these in this project. May be to replicate
something like this in Sri Lanka as well. Well, writing is a good
hobby. If one can write one page a day, it becomes 365 pages and a
good amount of literature.

Being a person form a small village in India surrounded by tribal
belt, I understnd the important of folklore in the life of all of
us...

Dear Tapon, thanks for joining in with your introduction in an
attachment. This is a new way, and many of our friends will find it
useful in different context. However, it would be better to avoid
attachment, unless essential. Well, you really have huge experience
including international experience, and this workshop will also add to
your distance education training. I think, your experince of writing
text material for NFE will be usefl. Let's keep using the group.

Dear Sir,
I am Pintu Albert Peris. I did my Masters degree in Political Science from National University, Bangladesh. I have been working in Caritas for 11 years. As a field / implementation level staff of Caritas Dhaka Regional Office, I have experienced to work with Bangali as wel as Adibashi / tribal (Garo, Hajong, Santal, Urao) children, their parents and the community. I was innocent about ODFL: recently I am preparing myself. Thanks to CAMPE and BOU for the program and Caritas for assign me. 
 
I do not have special hobby, I enjoy film show, like cooking with my mother & wife.

Dear Missan,
Please be informed that I finished my chapter. This is different from
what we practiced at the f2f workshop. I changed the topic. I am busy
today and upload tomorrow. Our coordinator, Mr. Mizan is helping a lot.
