The planned national level activity - RTI - is on in full swing in many cities across the country. The chapters already participating in it are:
1. Gwalior
2. Ujjain
3. Bhopal
4. Nashik
5. Pune
6. Bangalore
7. Delhi
8. Chennai
More chapters are requested to take part in the activity. In case we have missed any chapter which is participating in the activity, please do get in touch with us immediately.
Just a few simple points for those who wish to file an RTI application
1. Filing an application is not at all complicated. It is a very simple process.
2. Keep the objective in mind: why am is filing the application? It could be either to get some information about the schemes being run by the government or it could be to unearth corruption. etc.
3. Ask questions which are to the point, do not beat around the bush or write essays.
4. The language used must be correct. i.e. avoid using negative or accusing language in the first application itself.
5. The entire process can be fast if we already taken a written application there. The time may depend from department to department. Usually there is a single Public Information Officer in any office / corporation. Submit your application there. It is his duty to forward the application to the concerned department.
