Annoucement: Magazine Team

[Bharat Uday Mission - National Executive]

Dear Members of the Mission,

Jai Hind.

Nominations were invited for Magazine team of the mission, till 15th of April. After consultation with the applicants, the National Executive is announcing the Magazine Team as follows:

The Editorial board has accepted its responsibility, while the roles and responsibilities of the other team members are subject to their acceptance.  The criterion of being a active member was relaxed by the NE after due consideration.

Terms of Reference (These are in addition to the ones already stated in the announcement for calling nominations for the Magazine team.)

1. The initial tenure of the 1^st Magazine Team is approximately 6 months, starting May 1^st 2007 and ending Sept. 30^th, 2007. It will be responsible for bringing out issues of the magazine, starting tentatively with June 1^st till October 1^st.
2. The Magazine Team will consist of the Editorial Board (EB) and other members.
3. The EB will initially consist of the Editor & one Sub-Editor.
   
4. The EB may add members to the team as needed, while National Executive will manage the membership of EB. Members can be added to EB in future.
   
5. The EB will be responsible for all policy matters and decision making in the Magazine Team. The EB will function under the overall supervision of the NE.
6. The decision of the Editor in all matters concerning the Magazine will be final, subject only to the review of the National Executive (NE).

  Some Details about Magazine

1. Magazine will be published on the 1^st of every month.
2. News coverage period: 21^st of previous month to 20^th of current month i.e. if the Magazine is dated June 1 (the June issue), the News coverage will be between Apr. 21^st and May 20^th.
3. All articles and letters for possible publication in the next month's issue should reach the EB by 20^th of the previous month.
4. Initially the circulation will be private i.e. within the mission. Later it may be made available to the public, free of cost or at nominal cost to recover the expenses on publishing.
5. Initially only the electronic form (pdf document) will be brought out and if possible, it may be made available for download on the website.

The National Executive would like to mention that Santosh and Krishanu made significant contributions in communicating with members, forming the team and the writing the terms of reference.
