Madarsa blow to party
OUR CORRESPONDENT

Tamluk, Dec. 16: The CPM today lost all its seats in the governing body of Daudpur High Madarsa in the first election in Nandigram since the ruling party's armed recapture of the land battle zone.

The CPM held all the six seats in the madarsa, which were this time swept by Trinamul Congress and Congress candidates who bagged 359 votes.

The CPM won only 120 votes while the remaining 37 were declared invalid.

After the results were declared, CPM cadres beat up some reporters and photographers on the madarsa compound, 160km from Calcutta. A complaint has been registered with Nandigram police.
