Hi,
I have been reading the emails going back and forth, and it is my opinion too that, our country can be improved only through a combined socio-political initiative. After all, there are hundreds of NGO’s working throughout the country, but still proper reform has not taken place after 50 years.
As the moderators have said, some people may want only to do social work, but the point really is that, throwing money at an issue, does not resolve anything. Even if you work day and night, and spend your entire life in Social work, it may not make an iota of difference because the numbers are against you.
In such a situation, it is only the Govt which can make a difference. By giving priorities to the right things. For ex: Govt sponsored education has done immense help to the people, because it gives them awareness, and when one person in the family gets highly educated and gets a job, then he tries to help his family, and others too. I have a friend in US who does not spend a single cent for his own needs. His logic is that, if I save 100 dollars in rent, so and so kid can go to school in India.
Also, I would like to request the moderators too to tone down the language, because if we want to keep good people, then we have to reason with them, and make them understand why we do things the way we do. If we directly say that: “There is no space”, etc etc, it is fine, but we can give the same message in a more polite manner.
When the number of people in the party increase, the number of opinions will also increase, without compromising our ideals, we have to make the other people understand our point of view in a very nice and polished manner. That is how; we gain popular support and following. The discussion should always be a debate, where everyone feels that they are part of the same team and have equal rights.
Regards,
Vijay
