Dear Bull Moose Hunting Society,

This has been a most remarkable year for the Society. We've had a bunch of good hunting (dear, pheasant, trout, boar), had some faces in the news (what's up, The Atlantic, SF Chronicle and New York Times), grown to nearly 90 members, and opened two new chapters. We've been contacted by photographers, chefs, documentarians, and found two other like-minded groups who hope to combine efforts.

I just wanted you to know, I never planned any of this. All I ever thought was that we'd do a bit of hunting and get together with some people like ourselves. I should have guessed after the first deluge of interest from our Urban Daddy article in San Francisco, but still, I didn't realize what a need there was for a group of people like us. I am still getting requests to open chapters, join our existing chapters, work together on TV shows and video games (seriously!). I wish I could be everywhere at once working on all these fun an exciting things. Most of all, I wish I could be there with you, enjoying a beer, a well cooked meal or a day chasing boar through the Central Valley.

I have a lot of plans for 2010, including a visit to each chapter to get to know the people running our organization. I also hope to continue making videos, with some of you in them. Now that we have a logo, we can start thinking about t-shirts, hats, kleen kanteens, patches. With our increased membership we have a bit of money for a redevelopment of the website (I need to eventually let a professional work on that thing...). We can also start working with chapters on setting up storage space, writing step-by-step hunting regulation guides tailored to each state. The possibilities are limitless, especially when considering the potential in our membership.

Thank you for 2009. Have a safe holiday and let's kick 2010's ass.

Nick.
