As I mentioned before, Bianca and I are applying to the Brooklyn Communities Collaborative https://www.brooklyncommunities.org/strongcommunitiesfund. We’ve been barking up this tree for several years, but we think we may actually have a chance.

The plan is to apply for about $300k, half of which would go to BMC/CBFC.

So my question is, if we had to budget between $100k to $150k for the food coop, what would we ask for? Our main salary lines are covered by USDA, but is there another salary line we should be thinking of? Or should it go to capital?

What do you think of this:

$25% towards and assistant general coordinator.
$75% towards capital/renovation costs.

It would be great if we could make this decision swiftly and efficiently, like within 24 hours. We’re not sure how long this iron will be hot.

Question: when do we want the food coop to open?

Assuming not already done:
Market survey and business plan
down payment to purchase or lease a rental space
Interior design and engineering plan for renovating the space

In terms of staff I would ask for funding for someone to carrier out that work

Hi Everyone $149 group rate for duct and dryer cleaning

Hello neighbors! I'm organizing a group rate for vent cleaning services. If you have allergies, notice extra dust, or haven’t cleaned your vents in over a year, it’s probably time. He quoted $400, but with 3–4 houses it’s $149 for a single AC unit home. And if you book along with your neighbor or a friend, your price will be $149.  Currently, two households are already on board, so we just need two more to qualify for the discounted rate. If interested, PM me your contact number, house address, and your availability so I can add you to the list. They also do chimney cleaning if anyone needs it
