I think every court should have an owner (the person booking the
court) who is responsible for cancelling if required. Reception should
collect a membership number with every court booking so that no shows
can be monitored (some do this already, but some don't).

Maybe a squash committee representative should contact persistent
offenders (3 no shows?) to have a quiet word.

If this is a good idea, it would be good to have an email sent to all
members stating membership numbers will be required for booking courts
from now on, no shows are being monitored, and explain the
cancellation policy and etiquette (i.e. as early as poss).

In the meantime substitutes would seem a good idea.

The MC has taken the view that now shows should be warned initially
and then fined. As it started in January that can happen anytime. So
please please make sure everyone cancels courts they can not use. With
the high usage most will be taken up late on - but only if they are
cancelled.
