Festival of India - Odisha Participation

Hi All

I hope you all are doing good by the grace of Lord Jagannath. 

Mclean County India Association is Celebrating Festivals of India on October 12th 2013. This would be a good platform to represent to the world, who we are and how rich is our heritage and culture. 

We are planning to represent our Odisha State and would need all your support to make it a success. For now I would want to know the Head count for people interested. 

Please reply back with a Yes or No by EOD Saturday. No Response means Not interested.

Events Includes: 

1. State Parade: 10-20 People (No Max Limit) of participants in traditional dress.  

For this we would need a Head count first.  

2. State Stage Cultural Program: Any song (Preferably Odiya), Skit that shows your ur state Unique Culture, Festivals, Etc 

We are in search of Odissi Costumes and Volunteers (currently its Urmy and Julie who volunteered) . In case you plan for a dance show/Skit. Do let me know and we can plan something.

3. Bride and Groom Fashion Show: - In your traditional attire couple ramp walk.

We need only one couple to represent our state. Please volunteer and we will go from there (Bachelors please discard or get married soon:) ) 

4. State Stall: Showcasing State Specific Artifacts, Pictures, Objects, Presentations, Clothing.

Items which shows our rich culture and heritage, Jagannath Murti, Chandua, Sambalpuri Saree, Pipili work, etc you can think about. Need to know if any items you folks currently have and can share for a day.

Here is the plan of action and events Odiya Group is participating in FOI on October 12th 2013. Request you to please be updated. 

1. Dress Code:- 

Gents:- Sambalpuri Kurta,Sambalpuri Shirt or White/Offwhite Kurta Punjabi. 

Note:- Contact Satya bhai Incase you have trouble arranging Gents Costume.

Ladies:- Sambalpuri Saree, Patta

Note:- Contact Pragyan Bhauja or Urmy incase you have trouble arranging ladies costumes.

2. Participating Events:- 

12pm - 2pm - State Stalls Display.

2pm to 3pm - State Parade - BMI odia Group is Participating.

3pm to 4pm - Culturals - Urmy, Julie, Sree Bhabhi and Kids are Participating. Do not miss this. 

3.Location:-

Please be at the location before 1pm for State parade. Volunteers for Stall setup needs to be there by 11am. Location details in my first mail.
