The Indian investments market is poised for a full growth and maturity phase. Investments by global venture capitalists in India doubled to USD 182 million (about Rs 846.6 crore) in the second quarter this year compared to the year-ago period. According to Deloitte's 2010 Global Venture Capital Survey, the majority of venture capitalists in China, India and Brazil expect the number of venture firms to increase between now and 2015. The report said that 85 per cent of respondents in India expect the number of venture capital firms to increase in the period under review. We have been witnessing more domestic VCs as well entering the Indian market. Similarly, there are new entrants in the investment banking industry offering corporate finance, structured finance and equity market services. At least 300 new Investment Banks have come up in India over the past 18 months at nearly one every second day, according to industry estimates. Their numbers are set to grow in the current decade - which throws up myriad career opportunities in the sector.
