There's a workaround if your workstation has wifi: set up your mobile phone to share its wifi connect (it's called "tethering" on most phones) and connect your workstation through your phone's wifi.

Here's how my high school daughter and her friends get around these restrictions on the school network. It's boss!!

Go to https://translate.google.com/ Put the blocked URL in the Translate field and select any language. Now translate the site to English. Voila! BGG in an iFrame! It gets annoying after a while, but for brief itch scratching, nothing is better.

Also try videogamegeek.com, I have found that VGG often works at places that have blocked BGG.

It was pretty much the opposite where I work: VGG was blocked when I started here in 2010 but BGG worked just fine.  Then, about 18 months ago, one day I came into work and BGG was blocked.  "Surely, this is a mistake," I thought to myself.  After several days of this "mistake," it became clear to me that it was not.  SO (pick your favorite or add some below):

1. There have been a rash of mysterious disappearances in the IT department.

2. I decided to write a novel.  My editor wants to know why I emailed him 400 pages that just repeat, "All work and no play, makes John a dull boy."

3. The company's intranet got hacked and is being held for ransom until the firewall is restored to December 2016.

4. The NFL approved the Raiders' move from Oakland to Las Vegas.  Coincidence?
