Here is pool time we've booked for Provincial Championship:
Saanich, June 2-3 2007
June 2, Saturday: 1pm - 8pm
June 3, Sunday: 11:30 am - 3:30 pm

So far we have 2 teams confirmed:
1. Seattle Otters
2. Garden City

UBC and Frazer Valley, please start looking into put together a team.
Also we're planning to put few better players to Garden City team, so
it'll be competitive.

There is an interest (with little chance from previous experience that
they'll come, but still it is possible) from University of Alberta.

Please let me know if you have any thoughts or concerns.

Justin, we will need to think of assigning quality refs for this
tournament.

I think I am out.  I would rather we come up with a long-term plan to fix senior water polo in the province then rush into one-time tournaments like this.  I can’t speak for all if UBC, but I don’t think there will be a lot of people willing to pay $40 plus travel and accommodation to play the Ottters and Garden City.

Unfortunately I am away that weekend. I'd like to play, but it is
just bad timing.

I agree with Allen that we need to fix water polo in BC, particularly
at the senior men's level. Although I will be out of town Sep-Feb
next year, I am happy to sit down and talk this out over the summer.

Let's start with good turnouts every Thursday night at Central Park
pool this summer. It is a good opportunity to have high-level senior
men's games/scrimmages. Perhaps we can even organize a mini league of
4 teams, with beers & BBQ in the park to follow each evening.

As a follow-up to Nick's e-mail, who else would be interested in convening a
meeting to come up with a solution to the problem of men's senior water polo
in B.C.? I know at UBC we are very concerned with the lack of other clubs
to play and the steady decline in recreational senior water polo tournaments
over the last five years.

Let me know if you are interested and maybe we can have a meeting in June or
July to look at what is wrong and come up with a plan to turn things around.

Please let me know. I have copied some of the other UBC reps as well as
Kyna at BC Water Polo.

Hey you guys! I am in the penalty box (TO)for work and the # of
Mens Senior water polo players is abysmal. I do not think we could put
together a competitive Mens team at this point. We have aprox. 10
players that show up on a regular basis on Thursday nights to play with
the Juniors.

BC Polo is definitely much more organized and played at a higher
skill level. I definitely miss the group and the better level of play
(And the outdoor pools in the summer!). I hope you guys can keep getting
the turnouts so there is still a league alive when I return to the land
of paradise. Otherwise we are all going to be in diapers and old age
homes sooner than we think. All the best and have a great summer!!!

Central Park is on. 

I have arranged for BC Water Polo to book it on our behalf, as they are a non-profit (that was the issue, not poor interest). It will be a Senior Men's scrimmage/games night (ie. fairly high level).

Are you able to commit $100 for the whole summer? We need to ensure that we can raise the required funds, and we are already very close to the goal. Would love to have your commitment.
