Is there someone in your family or your dance group who would like to attend Stockton Folk Dance Camp, but he or she does not have enough dance experience? Maybe they have done some other type of dance, but not folk dancing. Maybe they've only been attending your local group for a few months. Maybe they just want to spend some time at Camp with you, but won't be able to keep up with the fast pace of the regular classes.
Have I got a deal for you!
I am offering two classes per day at Stockton Camp to dancers who are new to folk dancing. Participants can take one or both classes each day.
- The classes are small. Last summer (2025), there were four participants the first week and five the second week. The means lots of personal attention and emphasis on what each dancer needs to succeed.
- The focus is on dance vocabulary, basic steps, and basic dances (partner and non-partner) and tips and tricks for learning new dances.
- I will coordinate with the musicians providing music for the evening parties when considering what dances to teach, so beginners can experience dancing with a large group.
- At the end of the week, students will have a list of dances they learned and access to music and videos so they can continue practicing at home.
Do these beginners have to pay extra for this special class? Nope. In fact, each beginner gets $200 off the tuition for the Camp.
