It is with great sorrow and lasting peace that I write to let you know that my father, Harry Jackson, went to be with The Lord today at 4:16 pm.  Many of you know the health struggles that dad has had over the last several years.  

On Friday night dad experienced cardiac arrest while at home and never regained consciousness.   They performed CPR for nearly 30 minutes before the medical personnel could restart his heart .  He was placed on a ventilator and strong medications while the Dr's determined the extent of the damage. Late today the tests confirmed that the lack of blood flow had caused irreparable damage. 

We knew that dad did not want to live on life support and we made the decision to remove the support to let The Lord take dad in His timing.  My mother and brother prayed that God would intervene by either a complete healing or take dad home without us having to intervene .  After each of the three son's families  said their last goodbyes this side of heaven,  and after his faithful wife of 50 years kissed him a final time, God granted our prayers.  Before the medical staff could remove the ventilator, dad humbly and peacefully entered the presence of the Savior.  He had finished the race, he had kept the faith, and the Lord had called him home.
