A number of people met in the office of Kurilpa Hall at 1pm on Saturday 24th September, and resolved to call a speakout/rally in King George Square on the 22nd of October at 1pm. The group Hands Off Syria - Brisbane was convened by Adam Baker, who had been in contact with some people in the Syrian community in Brisbane for previous actions. They called ourselves Hands Off Syria - Brisbane, as they have some contact the people from Hands Off Syria Sydney.

The Facebook pages of Vanessa Beeley and Tim Anderson also give excellent up to date information on Syria's struggle to defend itself against the terrorist hordes trained, financed and armed by allies of the United States, (and bombed by the likes of Australia, Denmark, UK and US).

Adam Baker is now a member of Brisbane Anti-War Co-ordinating Committee so he will be able to remind us of the rally in King George Square again when it gets closer to 22nd October, and can send information to the group about any other actions being organised by the people he knows in the Syrian community in Brisbane.
