Below are a lot of voter education & engagement resources. Everyone is welcome to use them! As volunteer administrators, helping get out the vote is IMPORTANT. Lots of research has shown that nonprofits which encourage their communities to engage in civic life are much more effective.

So - the most important thing you can do is tell your friends, family, neighbors, community members, everyone that voting is powerful, that you personally care that they vote, and that there is help if they have questions about how to register, how to mark the ballot, what is on their ballot. Every Sunday from 11:00–11:45am through November 3 we have local League members happy to help in English RSVP on Eventbrite (I’m sorry we don’t have more languages available).

Dear Friends,

Our volunteers and members are hard at work preparing our Pros & Cons Guide, learning about local ballot measures, and organizing candidate forums (don't miss our SFUSD Board of Education candidate forum tomorrow, September 5). It’s all in service of being a trusted source for election information for all San Franciscans!

We’re fortunate to have been invited to speak with communities and companies across the city — including KALW, Salesforce, and the Museum of the African Diaspora — about ranked-choice voting and other things people need to know about voting.

I encourage you to remind your neighbors to visit lwvsf.org/vote and check their voter registration on September 17, National Voter Registration Day. And in honor of that day, come to KALW’s free film screening of “Counted Out.”

In unity,

Alison Goh
LWVSF President

Our first candidate forum was a sold out success! Over 100 residents of the Mission, Bernal Heights, St. Mary's Park, and Portola came to City College’s Mission Center to hear from the seven candidates for Board of Supervisors, District 9 — and hundreds more tuned in to the livestream.
