help reading certificates

Hi I was wondering if someone can please help pull the names of parents, godparents and dates to help me confirm if these are the correct certificates,

Really old ones are reeeeeeaallly hard.

Maria - Maybe 17 September. I have no idea on the year but it's the late 1500s based on the fact that she's on page 10 and you are also looking at page 21 (and I can read that year). I see what looks like Jonna Miz (Joana?? Martins) daughter of Jo MIz (Joam Martins). That's all I can get.

Francisco - Maybe in July 1598 (because he conveniently wrote it at the top of the page). I see what looks like Andre (maybe) and then Margarida. For the godfather, I think I see Pedro Antonio _____ of Lagoa? 

These ones are quite hard.  If you have an idea about their families, did you check Rodrigo Rodrigues yet to see if he has them?

Francisco’s father was Andre Manuel and mother was Margarida ?Leduesma not sure of spelling since like you said they are so hard to read in that time of book.  So that looks like the correct certificate.  I’ll check to see if those godparents appear on other sibling certificates.  

I have not check RR book since I don’t own a copy.

These records are so hard to read.  :-/ 

On the second, I also got Andre Manuel de...? and Margarida de Ledesma.

You may want to try Transkribus. They do offer a free historical Portuguese... just to see if some letters can be pulled out... 

Or a good genealogist that may know the families during that period in Candelaria. 

Amy, I will help you in a private email with my copy of RR. He does not cover all families, of course, so it is hit or miss sometimes.

It seems that Margarida de Ledesma might be in there...

inventariante, sua filha Leonor Dias, a mais velha das duas solteiras que tinha em casa; Filhos herdeiros
são: Jerónimo Dias, Brízida Dias, casada com Gonçalo Anes, Ana Martins, casada com João Gonçalves,
Aldonça Dias casada com Afonso Ledo, Maria Dias casada com Fernão Gonçalves, Grácia de Ledesma,
casada com Sebastião de Oliveira, Gregório Beirão, maior, solteiro; Leonor Dias de 24 anos e Margarida
Ledesma, de 21 anos (Maço de papeis da instituição do capitão Inácio de Melo, da Misericórdia de Ponta
Delgada).

Thank you for the information.  I really appreciate it.  

If I am reading this correctly, it seems that this Margarida de Ledesma might be the sister to Garcia Ledesma who married Sebastião de Oliveira.  If that is correct then she is the aunt of the Margarida de Ledesma who married Andre Manuel.  

I also think if reading this correctly that I am recognizing other names from another branch of the tree.  So an extra big help.
