My mom was born in Lomba da Fazenda Nordeste. She was Brandao Arruda. Her mother was Brandao. As best I have been able to determine in over 30 years of researching her Arruda line, they  originated in Algarvia in late 1600s. Mom told me before she passed that there were no other lines of Arrudas in the Nordeste region.  She was born in 1928. I still have 4 first cousin Arrudas living in Nordeste and one in Ribeira Seca
