Information

[Robert W Spanks Jr]

Good Afternoon,

I am looking for information on how to obtain birth, baptism, and death records for the Island of Santa Maria, specifically the town of Ponta Delgada.

If anyone can provide information on where these records may be available, or who I should contact to request copies, I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Thank you in advance for any information or guidance you can provide.

Best regards,
Bob

Hi Bob,

There's no Ponta Delgada on Santa Maria island. There's a Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel island and on Flores island. So you'll need to clarify which location you need. You also need a year.

A "how-to" can be found here as well:

https://www.azoresgenweb.org/Research_Aids/finding_roots0.html

You probably need to start at 2a once you figure out your location.
