Ok this is a different question.
Does anyone know of any sayings or stories about a blue butt rabbit. Maybe something to do with the island of fayal.
Backstory is I have been spending time with my uncle and while visiting him I ask him to tell me a story about something he remembers from when he was small. He tells me a story about working with his grandfather and his grandfather telling him to “remind me to tell you the story about the blue a$$ rabbit” my uncle being a kid never asked and my great grandfather never told him. So now since I have heard this memory a week or so ago I can’t get it out of my mind and can’t find anything about a blue butt rabbit. I found that there are rabbits that do have a tint of blue/grey fur. But just curious if anyone has ever heard of a story maybe a fairytale about a blue rabbit. A google search just gives me recipes on how to cook rabbit. lol
Who know maybe we will all always now wonder about the story of the blue butt rabbit like we wonder how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop.

But seriously Thanks for any ideas you may have about this story. I am hoping it was a children story or fairytale told.

Hi Amy,

We are from Faial, and I asked my 83 year old mom if that sounded familiar and she said no. But there is a book titled “The Islands of Magic” which talk about legends and fairy tales from the Azores, written by Elsie Eells, in case you want to check it out. Maybe it’s in there.
Let me know if you find out more!

Hi Diane
Thank you for asking your mom. And the title to the fables book. I am going to look it up. I appreciate it.
My uncle is 81 so I am trying to get memories and stories. His grandfather was born in Faial in 1885 and I am guessing he started to tell this story to my uncle probably in late 1940’s or early 50’s.
Being slightly ocd an unfinished story is driving me crazy lol. I might just need my niece (who 8) and the great great granddaughter to finish the story. What a way to bring the generations together? I might just have the start or a small family children‘s book.
Thanks again Amy

Encontrei isto. Aqui tem muitos livros da coleção "coelhinho azul". Como é uma biblioteca que sobre o património dos Açores, pode ser que saibam informar.
