On the record for Manuel Pereira and Maria Jose, 2nd line on left side of the page, can someone please tell me what the occupation of Manuel is and give me an explanation.

When I tried to Google translate I got "collector" and when you try to Google what a collector would have been in 1860s Azores, it comes up with a person who collects leeches to sell for medical uses.  Odd but not unbelievable for the place and time.  However, I think the translation is probably incorrect.  In my English-Portuguese dictionary collector=colecionador.  And the second letter of the word on the record looks like an 'a' to me.

I read it as "calceteiro" which is someone who lays paving stones for roads, patios, and sidewalks

Calceteiro: É o profissional especializado em pavimentação de ruas, calçadas, praças e pátios com pedras miúdas ou blocos (como a calçada portuguesa, paralelepípedos ou lajetas), assentando cada peça manualmente e criando padrões ou desenhos geométricos.  

Paving stone layer: This is a professional specialized in paving streets, sidewalks, squares, and patios with small stones or blocks (such as Portuguese pavement, cobblestones, or flagstones), laying each piece manually and creating patterns or geometric designs.
