and I can't view any documents. Could someone please guide me?

Fabio,

Correct. You are looking at the card catalog of the archives. Canto's records are not digitized. You can't view them online anywhere. The things that Emanuel and I shared with you is because we went there and made copies or took pictures of them. The only way to see Canto's work is to go there. Maybe you can ask the arquivo to scan a few pages and send it to you for a fee. You would have to contact the archives and ask them directly.

Yes, when I go I use Canto's indices and the inventarios. Those weren't digitized either.

The inventarios are what the deceased owned at the time of death. The more recent ones have a copy of the death in them. They also list the offspring. One packet that I looked at listed my great-grandparents as living in America! Now that most people have a camera in their phone, I just take pictures. I could do that with Canto's indices and type them up when I get home. Maybe I'll do that next time I go.
