Great opportunity to explore the relationship between illustration and animation this Thursday - Dom Rhys performs and mixes intricate layers of live video and animations on one screen, while splashes of his illustrations appear on the other 3 screens. Dom will also be playing a specially prepared ambient music mix to accompany his visual work.
Dom Rhys is a current honours student in RMIT's Media Arts course. Making moody urban flavored drawings, sound and video work - ongoing themes in which have been based around ideas of science fiction, surrealism, and magical realities. Present work combines these elements, working towards live original AV performance dealing with the concept of the technological singularity.
