Hey Church Family!

I am very excited to share the opportunity I have to serve the Lord this summer. I have been accepted into Christian youth leadership training program at a camp called Grace Farm. Grace Farm is a Christian camp that hosts summer camps and retreats where campers get to learn about the Bible and spend time in prayer and Christian fellowship. In the leadership program, which they call their S.W.A.T. team, I will get to serve at the camp and be a part of while learning more about the Bible, about serving God, and about leading as a team. There are four camps over the summer, two of which I will attend as a camper with more responsibilities and the other two I will be serving as a volunteer.

The first camp of the summer is called the Georgia Missions Project. It is from May 24th to 29th of this year. At this camp we get to learn about mission work while serving the camp- helping build cabins, working on construction projects, developing the property, and doing ministry outreach. While I get to be a part of building and expanding this place of ministry, God will give me opportunities to build new skills and learn more about him through his Word and ministry training lessons twice a day. I’m really looking forward to all I will get to learn and do in this first week of camp.

I’m really excited about this trip and I know it will be good for me to work hard and have a break from all the luxuries that I’m used to having all the time. It will also be great to learn more about serving the Lord through missions work and receive more training that I can use in my life now and in future ministry. As a part of teaching about mission work, we are asked to raise the money to cover the cost of the camp to give us experience about how to do this so that we know how to raise funds for missions in the future. I need to raise $195.00 in order to cover the cost of this camp. The cost for this week will cover my food and supplies and provide funds to buy materials for some of the projects we will be doing.

Thank you for taking the time to read this email. Any gift you are able to send would be gratefully received and deeply appreciated. If you send a gift, please let me know if you would like a tax-deductible receipt for your gift and I will get that figured out with the camp for you. Checks can be made out to “Focus Evangelistic Ministries.” In the subject line, please write “Missions Camp-Maggie McTavish.” My address is below!

May the Lord bless you all in your walk with him. I’ll keep y’all posted on all that I’ll be doing at Grace Farm this summer!
