Subject: [isworld] PostDoc position in Process Management for Dynamic Business Networks at Eindhoven University of Technology
To: AISWORLD Information Systems World Network <isw...@lyris.isworld.org>

The Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences
at Eindhoven University of Technology is looking for an

PostDoc in Process Management for Dynamic Business Networks

The vacancy is located in the Information Systems (IS) group of the
Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences (IE&IS) at
TUE. IS is a leading group in its domain with a strong international
presence. With over 30 employees, the group performs research and teaches
in business information systems, specializing in information system design
and business process management. The focus of the group is on the
(re)design of operational business processes and the information systems
supporting these, including advanced technologies for these systems.
Research aims at developing design methods, specification languages,
design and analysis tools, and information system architectures. The group
has a model-centric engineering approach, integrates basic and applied
research and has a strong interest in contemporary real-world cases.
Examples of relevant technologies are workflow management and case
handling technology, service-oriented computing, and enterprise resource
planning systems. Main application domains are supply chains and
logistics, health care, the services industry, and high-tech
manufacturing. The domains are approached both from an intra- and an
inter-organizational point of view. The research of the group is currently
organized in six research clusters that have a topic-oriented and a
dynamic character. The group has an open atmosphere and congenial working
relations in research and teaching.

The PostDoc will work in the field of process management (systems) for
dynamic business networks. Dynamic business networks are temporary
collaborations between autonomous (business) organizations. The focus is
on process-driven networks, i.e., networks that are operated through
explicit inter-organizational business processes. The research will
consist of performing state-of-the-art surveys in two of the above
mentioned domains, development of reference architecture(s), and design
and setup of an experimental environment in which a number of information
technologies (e.g. Web Service technology and advanced workflow management
technology) are integrated to realize demonstrators for dynamic business
network support. The precise research plan will be defined together with
the PostDoc. The project is supervised by prof.dr.ir. Paul Grefen.

Candidates have (or will soon complete) a Ph.D. in Computer Science or
Information Science, a strong affinity with the indicated research area
and experience in publishing as demonstrated by their publication list.
Candidates have an excellent mastering of the English language in writing
and speaking; mastering of the Dutch language is not a requirement.

We offer:
• a challenging job in a dynamic and ambitious University;
• a PostDoc appointment for a period of 1.5 years;
• gross salary is in the range of €38.250 - €61.050 per annum (on a
full-time basis), this includes 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end of year
allowance. Salary depends on experience and knowledge;
• a broad package of fringe benefits (including an excellent technical
infrastructure, child care, savings schemes, and excellent sports
facilities).

More information about the IS group can be found at
http://is.ieis.tue.nl/. More information about this position can be
obtained from: prof.dr.ir. Paul Grefen (Chair IS group), phone
+31.40.2472290, e-mail: p.w.p.j...@tue.nl. Information about terms of
employment can be obtained from Mrs. Caren van Overdijk, personnel officer
(pz....@tue.nl), phone: +31.40.2475204.

Application
Please send electronically a detailed curriculum vitae, statement of your
interest in research topics, possibly references and all other information
that might be relevant to the personnel department (pz....@tue.nl). You
can apply for this job before 04-09-2009.
