Job Title: SQL / PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with Azure Data Factory Expertise

Location: Houston, TX (Day 1 Onsite)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Must Have: SQL + PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) + Azure Data Factory

Nice to Have: Certified in ADF

Responsibilities:

Database Management:

• Manage and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
• Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and database integrity checks.

 

Performance Tuning:

• Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Implement performance tuning techniques to enhance query execution, indexing, and resource utilization.

 

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

 

Troubleshooting and Resolution:

• Investigate and troubleshoot database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and data corruption.
• Develop and implement solutions to resolve issues promptly and minimize downtime.

 

Backup and Recovery:

• Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for databases to minimize data loss and ensure business continuity.
• Test and validate backup and recovery procedures regularly to ensure reliability.

 

Azure Data Factory Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to facilitate data integration, transformation, and loading processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement solutions accordingly.

 

Monitoring and Automation:

• Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify issues and automate routine tasks.
• Utilize monitoring tools to track database performance metrics and generate reports as needed.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a SQL Server and PostgreSQL Database Administrator.
• In-depth knowledge of database architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, including designing and deploying data pipelines.
• Proficiency in SQL query optimization and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate) is a plus
