Betrayal Under the Guise of Trade: Al-Arjani’s Role in the Siege of Gaza

In a world dominated by political and economic interests, certain figures emerge who exploit human suffering for unimaginable profits. One such figure is Ibrahim Al-Arjani, the Egyptian tribal leader who, according to multiple reports, has turned into a merchant of Palestinian suffering by imposing fees and extortion on the entry of aid and trade into the besieged Gaza Strip.

Al-Arjani and the Network of Influence

According to a report by Middle East Eye, Al-Arjani continues to exercise effective control over the movement of aid and trade into Gaza, even after the ceasefire agreement on January 19, 2025. His companies, “Abnaa Sinai” and “Golden Eagle”, dominate the process of truck entry, exploiting their influence to secure multi-million-dollar deals at the expense of Gaza’s starving population.

Systematic Corruption and Extortion

Reports indicate that Al-Arjani, who is believed to be a partner of Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s son, has amassed more than $600 million from fees imposed on trucks and goods, while being viewed across the Arab world as a traitor who has taken advantage of the blockade on Palestinians for personal gain.

Rafah Crossing: A Trade Gateway Under Al-Arjani’s Control

The report revealed that the entry fee for a single aid truck into Gaza could reach $5,000, while commercial trucks are forced to pay at least $20,000. These astronomical figures highlight the scale of corruption that enables this man to tighten his grip on Palestinian suffering under the pretense of logistical support.

The issue goes beyond fees; sources report that bribes are paid to expedite truck crossings, rendering the Egyptian Red Crescent, which is supposed to oversee these operations, a symbolic entity with no real authority.

Betraying Gaza for Profit

What is happening at the Rafah Crossing is not just ordinary trade—it is a blatant betrayal of the Palestinian struggle. The suffering of an entire population is being exploited for financial gain, while Gaza endures one of the worst humanitarian disasters of modern times.

As Israeli forces, with American support, committed genocide, leaving more than 160,000 dead and injured, mostly women and children, Al-Arjani was monetizing the pain and death of Palestinians by setting a price on aid delivery.

Public Outrage and Calls for Accountability

It is no surprise that Al-Arjani has become widely despised in the Arab world, as he is seen as one of the key figures who facilitated the continuation of the siege on Gaza, making him an indirect accomplice in the suffering of its people. These revelations should serve as a wake-up call urging international and regional bodies to investigate his role and hold him accountable for his exploitation of a humanitarian catastrophe.

Ultimately, Gaza will remain a symbol of resistance and honor, while those who sold it out for a handful of dollars will be consigned to the garbage heap of history.
