So, while making my way through the process of adding every named character in 'Empire' to the wiki, as a starting point, I came across an interesting point.

There's two Godrans, or maybe there's only one but he appears twice.

Godran first appears as the Ambassador-designate to Collegium in Ch 5.
Major Godran is in charge of the force that comes to camp next to Helleron near the end of the book (Ch 39).

So, are they the same person? If so, what does that imply about other things?

Nice catch!

Unless there's a conflicting description of the characters, I'd assume that they're the same.

I don't know. It somehow seems not to make sense that he's the same guy. He'd have to have left Collegium to head back to Asta while the Assembly knew nothing of the Wasp invasion and he was the Ambassador -elect...

It's the same guy - he was scoping COllegium out preparatory to
leading the Pride invasion. Honory Bellowern, the Beetle chap, stays
behind as Imperial diplomat in residence (and gets some mileage in Sea
Watch and Air War)
