On Saturday morning sailors were taken by surprise when an offshore Santa Anna Wind blew through the racecourse, UCI made use of their heavy air crews in the first set. Following the first set the wind changed directions and was much lighter. On Sunday conditions were similar to the afternoon before.
Prior to the regatta, the UCI team practiced with USC at the sailing center on Wednesday. Practicing in the venue with another competitive team was beneficial and the results showed. This week and in coming weeks the team will practice with USC at the sailing center on Wednesdays to prepare for the upcoming regattas. This weekend the Anteaters will be sailing in the St. Francis Invitational in San Francisco.
