Hello Laurence,

I tagged a piece of text using TagAnt and tested it on the latest version of AntConc. However, AntConc doesn’t have an option to disable POS tags. As a result, when generating the word list, the tokens included all the tags, which inflated the total word count. What would you recommend for disabling the POS tags to exclude them from the total word count while still being able to use the annotated text for analysis?

Thank you for your time.

Hi,

I think you just need to load your data in AntConc via the Corpus Manager, when you should switch the indexer to "simple_word_pos_headword". If you do this, all the tags will be processed correctly. You'll be able to count words, or words+pos, or even just the pos tags.

I hope that helps!

Laurence.
