Dear All,

If you’re interested in using AntConc 4, I’ve now created some video tutorials to help. You can find all of them on my YouTube channel here. https://www.youtube.com/user/AntlabJPN

All the videos are listed on the following playlist:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiRIDpYmiC0R3Vv5NncOuIqaUcyLLW7Ae

You'll find that the interface in the latest release of AntConc differs slightly from the one in the videos (especially the "Corpus Manager" interface), but I still think the videos are useful as all the key features are the same.

Regards,

Laurence.

Hello,
I just began the tutorial but am having a problem making the program run on linux. I receive this message:

(process:12516): Gtk-WARNING **: 14:56:44.468: Locale not supported by C library.
    Using the fallback 'C' locale.
/usr/lib/gvfs/libgvfscommon.so: undefined symbol: g_task_set_name
Failed to load module: /usr/lib/gio/modules/libgvfsdbus.so

(AntConc.sh:12516): GdkPixbuf-WARNING **: 14:56:44.484: Cannot open pixbuf loader module file '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache': No such file or directory

This likely means that your installation is broken.
Try running the command
  gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders > /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache
to make things work again for the time being.

I've also tried the other linux 64bit download and it failed to run as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hi Lauren,

Can you tell me what Linux distro you are using, the OS version, and if it's a 32bit or 64bit system?

Thanks

Laurence.
