Hy,

I started to learn rigging with the help of this great tutorial series. I am at video AFR_03_B where the actual arm rigging gets started. I have a problem when it comes to orient l_low_arm joint with the orient joint tool (in order to achieve the positive values of joint rotation on the Y axis when bending the arm forward). I do it as it is in the movie, reorienting the joint to XYZ pointing negative Y, and the local rotation axis shows correct orientation, the Y axis rotates to positive values when bending the arm forward. However if I now rotate the joint on the Y axis in gimbal mode, the other two axes seems to be rotating in a reverse way. It causes twisting and rotation problems later on, so I get back to the beginning of he arm rigging part to double check if I missed something, but I followed precisely every movement of the author. I checked in the example file, and the low arm works there correctly, and every setting seems to be the same, as on my arm rig. What am I doing wrong? I'm working in Maya 2015 by the way.

Thanks in advance!

I managed to figure it out. It was maya 2015's viewport 2.0. I switched to legacy, and all rotations in gimbal mode just works fine.
