Hi all,
You can't help animals without animal-friendly people in positions of power. That's called politics. Laws depend upon it. Protection acts depend upon it (ESA). If ever there were a time in history when the
voices of animal people must be heard and their votes placed for animal-friendly candidates of a major party who can win, it is NOW.
The political world has largely ignored us. It's a long story, but I was a Hillary Delegate until the State Convention. I have met and now know many candidates. I have tried to break into their world. Many still think that we are just a "fringe group." THE TIME IS NOW TO let them know otherwise -- that we are numerous -- that we care about animals -- that we vote -- and that their future depends on us.
I'm glad you've already posted about Sarah Palin. We must spread the word far and wide about this travesty of a v.p. selection by McCain.
This country cannot afford more of the same that we have fought an uphill battle against for the past 7.5 years. Haven't you noticed how bad EVERYTHING is, let alone advancement in saving the planet and the living creatures on it? The very survival of this country and life on earth depends on your getting involved -- at least spreading the word about and voting for Obama.
We need Democrats in every office possible -- all the way down the ticket. A president needs a congress. The states also need Democrats to advance liberal, progressive, animal and environment friendly policies.
The circumstances are urgent and critical. Please help me get in touch with as many people and groups as possible.
Btw, McCain is not seeking Hillary supporters with this rabid choice -- he is seeking the extreme religious right-wing zealot voters that vote chiefly on abortion and other narrow issues. He's got
them. We need to make sure he doesn't have any of us.
Also, I would suggest that everyone who wants to know the up-to-date news -- who now get Alerts but not News -- please sign up for News so that I don't feel compelled to copy both -- and double copy some when I do that. I will no longer copy both unless I deem it critical! All news will go via AnimalVoicesNews.
Thanks.
Judy.
