STOP SLAUGHTER OF COWS, CAMELS AND CATTLE, RAMPANT CORRUPTION AND CATTLE SMUGGLING

It is no secret that cattle smuggling across state borders, especially
from Tamil Nadu and other states to Karnataka, is rampant and of
enormous volume.

Hordes of cattle ( cows, calves, bulls, buffaloes and even camels)are
being hoarded at many places like Shivajinagar, Azadnagar,
Bharatinagar . To give you a rough estimate, more than 50 camels and
500 cattle have been spotted at Shivajinagar, 30 camels and more than
300 cattle at Bharatinagar. These are obviously waiting to be
slaughtered on Nov 7. Mind you, the slaughter of cows, cattle, camels
is banned.

The time taken for one bull to die is 25 minutes and time taken by one
camel to die is 2 hours. It struggles and dies in its own blood.

Last year as the THE AKHILA DAYA PRANI SANGHA sent intimation to the
police departments and the HOME MINISTER about the areas in which the
cattle were being hoarded to stop this slaughter. NO one paid any
attention to this. Petitions to the Home Minister and Additional
General of Police have been filed also. An estimate says that nearly
10000 cattle were slaughtered in Bangalore alone last year. Imagine
the milk of a cow can sustain the families and livelihoods of so many
families. The urine of cow/ camels and bulls are used for antiseptic
purposes, to manufacture manure, fertilizers. Even after growing old,
and unable to produce milk or work in the fields the cow, cattle and
camels are capable of sustenance by virtue of their urine and dung.
People are just slaughtering them just like the hen that laid golden
eggs.

Even this year the police department seems lax is taking any steps in
stopping the slaughter. They are just not interested in stopping this
slaughter giving reasons like , ‘ this does not come under my
jurisdiction. Go here , go there.’

Kindly join hands to have these people open their eyes to these
heinous crimes and act fast to save lives of thousand ready to be
slaughtered on Nov 7.

Bengaluru. I would like to bring to your notice that there is illegal
cattle slaughter including the slaughter of cows, camels and cattle
which is strictly banned by the government. Yet these activities are
happening openly throughout the year more so on occasions like Bakrid.

I understand that a lot of cattle have now been seen collected in
places like Shivajinagar, Azadnagar and Bharatinagar and all across
Bangalore. Some sources say that nearly 3000 cattle ( including cows )
and more than 100 camels are present at Bangalore now in various
locales and another 2000 will be added in another week. You, as
responsible departments would know more than us as to where the cattle
are being hoarded. I understand that these cattle are being hoarded
for slaughter on November 7th. Last year as well many cows, camels and
cattle were slaughtered inspite of a ban on cow slaughter, camel
slaughter and cattle slaughter. Also it has come to my understanding
this slaughter is happening openly on the streets in such large
numbers.

This is highly unacceptable.Kindly take immediate action and rescue
the cows, camels and cattle immediately. And also please take stern
action against all offenders.
