== Last Weekend @ SkyDive Rustenburg 11th and 12th June ==
Boom… Another super chilled perfect (post-severe weather warning) weather weekend on “the other side” of the Magaliesberg… Some organized 8Way, 6Way, and 4Way FS Jumps with Claire and Dirk and co, back to back all weekend with other mixed fun loads. More progression with a number of Skydivers getting more items signed off towards their C and D License Requirements, several jumpers made pre-determined accuracy landings towards their PRO Ratings.
Carrot Louis, with a dash of orange and green neon-ness, was out jumping and partying with us having been on an International Research Mission of Great Importance for the past couple of years… Great to jump with you again after so long Louis!
Welcome back to skydiving Mike Klimker (Skydive Plett founder). It seems that he has had a real job that interfered with his skydiving for the last 4 years! He rocks up, gets his recurrency briefing, gets a reserve repack, does a couple jumps, and started drafting his resignation letter. Rock on!
We also had a nice surprise visit from Dave Catteeuw who, having been involved with Skydiving and Drop Zones in the USA for the past 20 years, made his first skydive in Africa in 20 years this last weekend with us. Dave and Graham Field won Gold in Intermediate South African National FS Championships back in 1990 with Team Flying Colours.
In the middle of all of this, Ruan rocks up on his brand new 1200GS and insists on jumping naked… we like this kind of attitude!
Thanks everyone for coming out and enjoying!

== Chief Instructor Graham Field’s Comment ==
The Margate Boogie happens this week with a number of Drop Zones coming together so once again a few things to remember when away from your home DZ :
- Only introduce 1 new thing at a time on your skydives if at all possible.
- With 2 or 3 aircraft flying at once there will be more canopies in the sky than you may be used to so adhere to predetermined landing order & patterns.
- Try open a bit higher on your 1st couple of jumps to get orientated and used to the denser air at the coast (subject to meet director and safety officer approval).
- If you are doing beach landings, land only in the designated landing area and be aware of spectators who might not be aware of you.
- Make sure your gear is safe, inspected, reserves are in date and your AAD is set for the area you are going to land at - Margate Airfield is approx 500ft higher than Margate Beach...!
- Party hard but give yourself time to recover properly before skydiving :)
Go fast and have fun - see you all there G
