Greetings Super Friendly Aviators...

We have a number of loads happening this Thursday (12th May) with a
group coming out to do a mixture of Tandem Introductory Skydiving and
Accelerated Freefall Training. Start time will be 07:30 and there
will be at least 15 loads going up (2 loads back to back per cycle)
with 2, possibly 3 slots open on each load.

If anyone wants to take up some slots on Thursday pls let us know
ASAP... Our day will be pretty full so A-License and above only, and
with advance request. Please dont just rock up unannounced as we are
looking after a large group and wont be able to give personal
attention once we are rolling!

Remember this coming weekend (14th and 15th May) SkyDive Rustenburg
will be closed in support of South African Canopy Piloting National
Championships at PSC. Then Ops normal for the weekend of 28th and
29th May... for other up and coming dates please see note at bottom of
this newsletter (or last weeks newsletter).

== Quote of the Week ==

"Was there life before wingsuiting?!" - Karen Fourie.

== Last Weekend @ SkyDive Rustenburg 7th and 8th May 2011 ==

Whilst we didn't get a whole bunch of loads up we crammed a heck of a
lot into them!

Anthony, finishing his ISPs and passing his A-License Test, satisfied
all of the requirements for his A-License. Justin graduated the AFF
Program, Jeanette passed her AFF Level 4, Munyanka (one of our new
Botswana jumpers) did some consolidation jumps having graduated from
the AFF Program a couple of weeks back. Frederick did his 1000th
Parachute Decent whilst Wingsuiting with Brando and the newest bird to
take to the skies with a wingsuit - the lovely Karen.

Welcome also to our new AFF Students Charne, Dion and Leroy.

The weekend before the Smoking Dragon Boogie Big Jason also got his A-License.

Super congratulations to all of you and great to see so much fun and
progression happening at SkyDive Rustenburg.

== This Weekend @ SkyDive Rustenburg – 14th and 15th May ==

== Chief Instructor Graham Field’s Comment ==

At the DZ this weekend we experienced very light and no-wind conditions.
In these situations the windsocks may not be a reliable method of
determining wind direction so try get an idea of any slight prevailing
winds before you take off or look for any nearby smoke, which is
always a good indicator, and stick to the pre-determined landing
pattern as conflicting approaches at low altitude are one of our
sport's biggest dangers. Remember your canopy will fly further and
faster in low wind conditions so dont get yourself crammed in corners
with no outs. Lastly practice PLFs and do them if you see you might
not run out your landings, and don't do low turns if you end up going
downwind - fast forward speed hurts way less than fast downward
speed...

== Come Skydive @ SkyDive Rustenburg ==

Whilst we do not run a pre-manifest system we would like to know if
you are coming through, when you expect to arrive, how long you are
around for, what your requirements are, and what you would like to
achieve. As a courtesy please let us know if you are coming out and
what your intentions are.

Fun Jumpers, Sports Skydivers, Misfits and Rebels, all Welcome...
