Nothing but perfect weather up here in Limpopo (no sign of snow for sure!).

Johannes Selepe and David Maina will be live on the Ashifa Breakfast show on www.CapricornFM.co.za on Friday morning as support and interest for The Ranch Boogie heats up.   We have some incredible support in the area for this event.

Registration forms are coming in thick and fast, please ensure that you have completed your form and made your payment for registration and jumps in advance.  We all hate admin… fill out the form, make a payment, rock up and enjoy.  Full catering (at very reasonable prices for event registrants) will be provided by Protea Hotel Ranch Resort, camping is permitted (on special arrangement for event registrants).

The registration form is available here -  www.para.co.za/documents.aspx

Note - SkyDive Rustenburg will not be operating this weekend 30th and 31st July.  Obviously 5th to 9th August is The Ranch Boogie….  Back to normal operations at SkyDive Rustenburg 13th and 14th August.

Congratulations to SkyDive Rustenburg’s youngest A-Licensed member Herman du Toit, who recently came back from Amsterdam having represented South Africa at the World Underwater Hockey Championships.   They came back with Gold as World Champions in under 19 open.  Good Job!

Congratulations also to Joe van Huyssteen who on Tuesday made a Tandem Skydive with his kids for his 75th Birthday Celebration.

What a perfect weekend.  We took 17 people for Tandem Introductory Skydives, facilitated 12  ISP jumps for our up and coming students, we had a bunch of fun jumpers come out, and had a bunch of fun.

After jumping until sun set on Saturday we had Tom and Ange come out for a Sun Rise Special Double Tandem Skydive on Sunday morning… What a blast this was… The universe definitely favours those that are willing to get up early to enjoy the marvels of sun rise from altitude!

Thanks for the support and enjoying.

== Chief Instructor Graham Field’s Comment ==

This week a quick word on being altitude aware:

Set yourself altitudes like when you were a student that you will not go below no matter how much fun you are having - there is not always enough time for that '1 more point'.

Don’t let yourself be distracted by stuff happening around you to the extent that you lose track of your altitude - a floating handle or seeing someone in a sit for the 1st time can distract you, so make a conscious effort to check your alti regularly.

Use the tools we have and stick to the MOPs when it comes to wearing altis - audibles are there and available so use them in all disciplines.

Plan your dives and stick to the plan - good skydives seem to last forever and badly planned skydives often leave you behind the power curve.

Altitude is your friend but don’t be afraid of getting out low if you need to - with the right gear do a hop and pop from 3000ft and feel what it’s like to have a sub-terminal deployment.

Practice a good poised exit - you may need it someday ;)
